The Cabin Experience

The Cabin Experience

Our cabins offer a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and heritage of Kōkeʻe and Waimea Canyon. Known for world-class hiking and extraordinary vistas, a stay here provides a meaningful connection to one of the islands greatest treasures.

At over 3,000 feet, these authentic mountain cabins are typically 20 degrees cooler than the coast. Each is equipped with a wood-burning stove as its sole heat source; high-quality firewood is available for purchase to keep your stay cozy.

Set in a lush, remote forest near one of the wettest spots on Earth, you should expect slick trails, native wildlife, and rustic conditions. These elements are all part of the unique, high-elevation environment. We look forward to welcoming guests who appreciate the true, rugged character of Kōkeʻe.

Preserving History Since 1951

Originally built as a robust mountain outpost, The Koke'e Lodge has served as a gathering place for hikers, hunters, and families for over seven decades. We are proud to steward this historic landmark, preserving its rustic charm while breathing new life into the kitchen and cabins.

"Such a cozy atmosphere! Large windows to look at the beautiful view or you can warm up by the fire. There's a comfy couch and bookshelf with games and books. Chocolate chip scones and iced coffee were fantastic, it was such a great stop on the way to/from Waimea Canyon."
